Post bridal-shopping for my 75 year old Nan's wedding - the girls agreed we needed a dinner pit-stop - and where better to eat than where the wedding itself is being held; The Manor House Hotel in Alsager.
Not only was the 'main event' menu on offer including steaks, scallops and steak and ale pie, but a 'lighter' lunch menu of sandwich selections. However, 'lighter' lunch at the manor still means a huge portion of food; thick crusty ciabatta bread with the fillings such as roast beef and horseradish and char-grilled bavette steak, alongside pots of salad, coleslaw and sauces between £6-£12, with add-ons such as skin-on-fries for £1.50-£3.50.
The fish finger, gherkin and tartare sauce sandwich sounded ideal for me, with mum ordering roasted ham and mustard and Nan having prawn sandwich. All so delicious and with insane portion sizes and finished with half-a-pint of Peroni - we all needed a doggy bag with half in for later.
Location-wise it is situated on the outskirts of Alsager, and is welcomed by all ages, however 40+ seems to be their main demographic. For a Sunday afternoon, the atmosphere was lively with people filtering in and out for a drink or treating themselves to a big lunch.
I recommend bringing your family here for a birthday celebration, and even an over night stay, or a Sunday lunch date for you and your mum, nan or whoever loves a fancy lunch.

Would this be a dining location you'd fancy visiting?
